Meet Pupper Chunks, New Member to Our Growing Treats Family

As you all know, here at Cookies & Co. we love supporting and highlighting local dog treat vendors. We recently added Pupper Chunks, to our treats family! These cookies are packed with organic, vegan ingredients and made with 100% natural superfood ingredients like turmeric, ginger, and ashwagandha. Don't recognize some of these superfood ingredients? Wait… my dog can eat superfoods too?

We live in a world engulfed in all sorts of nutrition crazes; Whole30, paleo, keto, vegan, and carnivore just to name a handful. The intention behind these movements is solid though: the better the food you put in your body, the better you should feel. It’s science, right?

Well, it turns out that if you’re a whole food fanatic that prioritizes clean, natural ingredients, your furbaby would benefit from this diet kick too! Enter: Pupper Chunks superfood dog cookies!

Based out of Cookies & Co.’s home city of San Diego, CA, Pupper Chunks was started by a self-proclaimed health maniac who wanted to align his pupper’s food habits with his own.

“I try to minimize the amount of junk food that enters my body’s temple, so I wanted to make sure that Chunk’s diet would abide by that same principle,” said Pupper Chunks founder Grant. And yes, Grant’s dog’s name is in fact, Chunk!

“Chunk is at the core of this concept because ultimately I am solving my own problem. When I first brought him home, it was easy to turn to the big-box-brand name treats that we’re all familiar with seeing on the shelf at the store, but when I actually started reading the ingredients on these I knew I had to find cleaner alternatives. And then in taking to the internet, there is so much junk branding flying around about what a healthy treat actually contains. So, I did what any maniac would do and looked into creating my own treats!”

And this is essentially how Pupper Chunks was born. Grant and his team have built their cookies around 3 main ingredients:

Turmeric Curcumin

This power-packed superfood is all about the antis: it’s anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antifungal, antiviral, and even anti-cancer. Seriously, it has been used as a natural therapeutic to mitigate the effects of cancer. It can also provide pain relief to achy, stiff joints, so it’s a fan favorite of the more athletic puppers. Turmeric Curcumin basically puts the “super” in superfood!

Ginger

There’s a reason why ginger tea has been enjoyed as a post-meal beverage for thousands of years; ginger works wonders for the digestive system! Giving your dog a healthy dose of ginger may combat nausea, bloat, constipation, and other annoying digestive issues that are rather sh*tty for both your dog and for you too! Ginger also has antiviral, antifungal, and antitoxic properties that can help strengthen the immune system.

Ashwagandha

This adaptogen has been one of the world’s most influential herbs used to manage stress and anxiety. It helps the body find balance, and can remedy both physical and emotional stresses. We all could use a little extra help managing bullsh*t that everyday life throws at us, and now your furbaby can get an added boost of zen!
